Synthetic undenatured ethanol is a petroleum-derived product. This ethanol is obtained from the by-products of separating carbon fuels. These carbon fuels are industrially processed with steam to produce ethanol, a clear and colourless liquid, at a purity of 99.99%. Purity of ethanol is measured by concentration of the substance of ethanol in liquid solution. Volume of ethanol over volume of the final solution (v/v) is the most accurate measurement of purity.

At a concentration of 99.99% there are 9,999 ethanol particles for every one water molecule, in a 10,000 particle solution. This synthetic undenatured ethanol product has no additives to modify it for specific use, but it is not intended for manufacturing beverages. Because it is undenatured it requires excise registration under rebate item 621.08 with tariff heading 104.21. We can help with this registration process.
